Amelia Hope The Ones We Leave Behind eBook Candis Vargo Reviews
Wow, wow, wow! This is my favorite book for December, without question. I knew from the synopsis that it wasn't going to end well, but the way it DID end totally blindsided me.
All of the characters are realistically written and the story is beautiful. I laughed, I cried, and my heart broke.
I have never read anything by this author before, but after this I will definitely check out some of her other genres. I'm hoping she will write more stories like this one in the future as well.
This is definitely a story that is emotional and may have the reader grabbing for the tissues. Cara faces news that sends her crashing to the ground when she finds out that not only does she have Acute Myeloid Leukemia, but she is also on her 10th week of pregnancy...
This makes her face the very difficult and heart wrenching decision does she sacrifice her life by not doing chemotherapy in order to have her baby or...
This story unquestionably pulls you in...first you're excited for them as they move into their first home, then you feel empathy and compassion for Cara and her husband Joel for what they face and know what is ahead...they just can't seem to catch a break.
The author did such a wonderful job writing this story, bringing life to the characters, and bringing depth and realness to the story line. Part of what makes this story so heartbreaking is knowing this isn't so fictional for everyone...
Yes, we know the ending, Cara tells us that but, the ending within the ending may actually surprise you.
This is a truly heartbreaking story. It's a story that we all hope that our loved ones never have to go through but unfortunately in life it happens.
Cara is diagnosed with leukaemia when she is ten weeks pregnant. She is faced with the decision of her life or her unborn baby's life. To have chemotherapy or not to. Cara and her husband Joel was just moving into their first home when this nightmare started.
I'm not going to say too much about the storyline. I feel the blurb gives enough without me spoiling it. If your looking for a really well written emotional story then I certainly recommend this book. Don't forget the tissues.
Cara Michaels diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer shortly after she finds out she is pregnant. She decides to forgo chemotherapy during her pregnancy even though it means certain death for herself. ‘Amelia’s Hope’ describes her struggle through cancer treatment and pregnancy.
To say ‘Amelia’s Hope’ was tear-jerker is a vast understatement. Cara’s situation was both touching and devastating. Waiting to find out what would happen kept me racing through the pages. I found Cara’s situation both heart wrenching and touching. Her husbands support brought tears to my eyes. Cara’s genuine realizations at the little she would never to experience with her daughter was especially sad.
I loved the character of Cara and definitely connected with her. Even though the decision to forgo chemotherapy was Cara’s to make, I can’t say I agreed with her decision. The book explains that if she has chemo the risk to the baby is mostly in the first trimester. After that the risk is much smaller. I think that Cara’s decision to forgo all treatment during pregnancy was not one I would have made. She sentences herself to certain death. This absolutely devastates her family.
I did really love the pacing and the prose of ‘Amelia’s Hope’. It was very easy to read and super fast paced. I didn’t see the twist coming at all. This novel was a touching read on a fresh topic and would recommend for those who love a good tear-jerker.
First things first, have a huge box of tissues near you at all times while reading.
Candis Cargo has written a beautiful, heart wrenching story that even through all the sadness you will still find hope and peace throughout the pages.
This is Cara's story, a young woman with so much to live for, expecting her first child with the love of her life, her husband Joel.
But this is not a happily ever after story and Cara's whole world comes crashing down with news from her doctor at a routine visit.
This story letss you into their lives as they deal with the impending death Of Cara and the birth of their new daughter Amelia Hope.
This is a amazing story that will have you crying, laughing and crying many, many more times throughout.
Through my tears as I read the last page of this beautiful storyI found myself smiling and being left with a peaceful inner feeling.
Candis Vargo is a extremely talented author and I cannot wait to read more of her work!!
Very good. Really makes you think what you would do with your life when you had a short time to live.
Great read. Don't read unless you are ok with getting emotional. Very powerfully stuff. Read a lot of books on my kindle (around130 or so).
